2007 Diocesan Convention Resolution and Documents

EPF proposed a resolution on first use of nuclear weapons,

which passed by an overwhelming margin.

Important upcoming event: commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, 1-3 pm on Sat 22 March, at the Sister Karen Center for Nonviolence, 80 Durham St, Buffalo (near ECMC).  Click here for flyer and map.  Please let Steve Hart (contact information above) know if there is any chance of your coming, so that EPFers can arrange to be a coherent, visible delegation at the event.
Resources for Peacemaking (click on any of these to go to the relevant page)
  • new resource: list of Buffalo peace organizations, with web links and contact information
  • WNY federal legislators - contact information, etc. (Word document, put together by EPF-WNY)
  • Find your representatives - this site, operated by Project Vote Smart, allows you to find out who your state and federal representatives are; links for each show committees they are on, contact information, biographical information, etc.
  • Voting records:
    • senate and house voting records for 2006 on peace issues, from Council for a Livable World, for all U.S. senators and representatives
    • 2007 record (senate and house combined) from Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL, general web site fcnl.org), on a variety of issues of concern to the FCNL, most of them peace-related
  • Episcopal Public Policy Network, which has information on issues that General Convention has addressed, an e-mail alert network that you can subscribe to, theological statements, etc.
